I just love how this cake turned out. It was so much fun to sit down with the wedding couple and design it! It is my first real attempt at sugar flowers and I love them. Making the flowers was probably my favorite part. Hope you like!

Transformers Cake
Mr. C had his 4th birthday today! Big kid! He's been asking for a transformer cake, his favorite being bumblebee. This is what I came up with. He had fun helping me puzzle piece together the autobot sign and roll the red and black balls. The cake was red velvet and looked pretty cool when cut next to the yellow fondant. Cakes are so much fun! Hope you like!
Complete with matching wrapping paper :)

Captain America Cake
This year for his 6th birthday my son wanted a Captain America cake. How fun! Captain America has a big 'A' on his helmet and my son's name starts with 'A' so there you go, it was meant to be! I made a "patriotic poke cake", where you take a white layer cake, poke each layer with holes and drizzle blue and red jello over the layers. It turned out pretty cute and really yummy!
The Red White and Blue!
The 'A'
The shield!
Ready to light!
Ready to eat! YUM!

Barbie Cake
This black and white zebra print with hot pink barbie cake was CRAZY to do! I've never done a barbie cake or a zebra print (thank goodness for Cake Boss and Google images, lol!). Lots of learning going on, but I think it turned out pretty cute. I made it for my friend's daughter's 6th birthday party. I'm guessing she had a barbie theme going on! Hope you like :)

Bridal Shower Cupcakes
These cupcakes were for a bridal shower. The Bride's colors are brown and turquoise. I'm more used to dreaming up cake designs rather than cupcakes, but it was fun. I LOVE the colors!

Horse Cake
This cake was for a sweet little girl for her 8th birthday. Her mom provided the horse figurines (wish I could say I sculpted all of them out of modeling chocolate, LOL!). This was such a fun fun cake to create! I love it! The cake is a 3 layer, 9 inch, chocolate cake with mint cream filling.
The chocolate cake recipe is a sour cream chocolate cake that I've made several times. The recipe calls for 5 egg whites beaten to stiff peaks and then folded into the batter. The last time I made it the egg whites deflated when I took it out of the oven and the whole cake shrunk like a nightmare soufflé gone wrong! Yikes! This time around I decided to scrap that step and just add the egg whites (unbeaten) with the rest of the wet ingredients and it turned out fabulous. What a relief, and so much easier!
